Learn-to-Race / Racing 420s

The 420 racing class is for sailors, ages 11-16, who have learned the basics of sailing and are ready for more challenging sailing. Students learn or improve on their racing skills, such as starting tactics, racing strategy as well as more aggressive boat handling. Classes are three weeks long, and run from 9-3:30.

Sailors are encouraged to participate in the Twin Cities Youth Sailing Friday race series in the 420 fleet. Coach support is provided at these events. Students are also encouraged to race 420s in Calhoun Yacht Club races on Wednesday evenings and weekends.

Class 35 is a one-week course focussing on advanced racing techniques.
