Kids Optimist Sailing Classes

Beginning Optimist Class

The Beginning Opti Class is designed for those students between the ages of 7 and 10 who have no prior sailing experience or don't feel they have a good understanding of how to rig the boat and the fundamentals of sailing. They sail two kids per boat.

Intermediate Opti Class

Those students between the ages of 8 and 11 who feel they have a good understanding of the fundamentals and have demonstrated a good comfort level on the water should take the Intermediate Opti Class, where they learn to become independent skippers while improving boat handling skills and confidence under a variety of wind conditions.
