This class is designed for children with little or no experience in a sailboat. The Optimist dinghy classes are aimed at younger and smaller sailors ages 7-10. Students start sailing two per boat as they learn the basics of rigging, boat handling, knot tying and water safety. With a student-to-instructor ratio of 6 to 1, kids receive individualized attention. Children who take both morning and afternoon classes are supervised over lunch. The classes run in two-week sessions. Students may repeat the course to gain a better understanding of sailing fundamentals, after which they can also move on to the Intermediate Optimist sailing class. MORNING SESSIONS
Notes: AFTERNOON SESSIONS
