This Start Sailing evening class teaches the basics of sailing to both parents and kids. Kids Optimist Sailing Classes Children between 7-11 years old The Beginning Opti Class is designed for first-time sailors or students who don't feel they have a good understanding of how to rig the boat and the fundamentals of sailing. They sail two kids per boat. Those students who feel they have a good understanding of the fundamentals and have demonstrated a good comfort level on the water should take the Intermediate Opti Class, where they learn to become independent skippers while improving boat handling skills and confidence under a variety of wind conditions. Youth 420 Sailing Classes Youth between 11-16 years old First-time sailors or students looking to relearn the fundamentals of sailing in a fun environment should consider taking Club 420s. These students sail 3 kids per boat. Adult Sailing Classes Adults 17 and older The LCSS offers two different types of evening sailing classes for adults: Club 420 classes for beginning sailors looking to learn the fundamentals of sailing, or C Scow classes for those who already know the fundamentals and are looking to improve their skills while learning how to handle a larger boat. |
